Note on IPM
A Special Note from our Turf Manager.....
With the growing concern (and rightfully so) over the abuse of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers in our society today, we would like to take a moment to assure you that our plant and turf health care programs were developed with an I.P.M. philosophy.
I.P.M. (Integrated Pest Management) is an environmentally sensitive approach to pest management that utilizes all appropriate pest management options including, but not limited to, the selective use of pesticides. The use of sound cultural, and agronomic principles, as well as the monitoring and understanding of pest life cycles and damage thresholds are used to manage pest damage with the least possilbe hazard to people, property, and the environment.
We also soil test to determine your specific nutrient requirements and tailor a program to meet those specific needs with organic based and slow release fertilizers that feed the soil as well as the plant. These low soluble fertilizers are much less prone to off site leaching into ground water and waterways and do not have the "surge" growth associated with less expensive, highly soluble synthetic fertilizers.
For those of you who would simply prefer to have no pesticies used on your property, we would be more than happy to discuss a pesticide free program for you. We would also like to let you know that we are currently developing and testing a completely 100% organic program that we will be offering as soon as we feel that we have a program that meets the expectations and value of a Farmside product.
